Working that day with Linda inspired Lisa to consider running for political office. At the end of her meeting with Linda that same days she acknowledged her intentions.
December 2008 at the Los Angeles Green Party's seasonal vegetarian potluck Lisa announced her intentions to seek the 53rd State Assembly seat (Ted Liu the incumbent, will be termed out) in 2010. In January 2009 she was elected co-facilitator of the Los Angeles Greens. She has spoken at college classes about the Green Party, as well as having a table dedicated to Green Party information at her booth on Venice boardwalk. Furthermore Lisa is a member of the GP California as an alternate delegate, a member of the GPUS National Women's Caucus, a member of the GPUS Lavender Greens (LGBT), and member of the GPCA Lavender Greens.
Lisa is a free expressionist & homeless advocate on Venice Beach Boardwalk. She opposed the City of LA's proposal to create Overnight Parking Districts in Venice and spoke at the Coastal Commission (which appropriately voted to oppose the OPD's).
Lisa's business, Green Earth Creations, is a member of the Venice Chamber of Commerce. She was an editor for the Spirit of Venice Speaks newsletter which is a collective of artists, and free speech activists; is active with many AD53 stakeholders including but not limited to the Venice Greens, Westside Greens, LA Greens, Westside Progressives, Friends of Madronna Marsh, Venice Neighborhood Council, Mar Vista Neighborhood Council, Ocean, Venice Beach Boardwalk Coalition, Ocean Front Walk Task Force, United Steps, World March for Peace and Nonviolence, among others.
