About Lisa Green, page 3
In September 2005 she began chemotherapy. Lisa received 8 cycles of chemo (taking only Friday off for treatment and returning to work the following Monday) given in dose dense fashion (every two weeks). She was bald after the second session. By the fourth session she was extremely weak but managed to focus enough to perform her work. The most painful part of the chemotherapy was recovering from the medicines that triggered excelerated cell growth to replenish her white blood cells. During this time Lisa could have used medical marijuana to relieve the pain but it wasn't legal in Florida. Lisa completed her final chemo session Christmas Eve 2005.
In January 2006 Lisa began radiation treatment and completed treatment in April that same year. (Lisa is very healthy these days thanks to a holistic approach to life that includes acupuncture, a vegan lifestyle, medical marijuana for periodic painful menstrual cycles, regular exercise, energy work, aromtherapy, and other holistic practices).
In February 2006 Lisa's mother, Jacquelyn, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had emergency surgery. Jacquelyn's cancer was advanced cancer which was believed to have originated in her lungs. The surgery, though debilitating, gave her a few months to say goodbye to her family. Lisa's brother, David, moved his mother into his home and was her primary care-taker until she died in April 2006.
The series of events over a 1.5 year period catapulted Lisa into an emotional breakdown and motivated her to rethink her life. Lisa resigned from her job to take time to heal emotionally from her own cancer, mourn her mother's death, and recover from her own battle with depression that had plagued her since her early 30's.
During this phase of her life Lisa had what she refers to as "reporting for spiritual work or a breakthrough". In that emotionally vulnerable period Lisa operated almost completely on instinct. She withdrew from her usual contacts to dig deep into this desire to find her life's mission. This feeling of missing something "huge and significant for the world" had nagged Lisa since her early 30's and coincided with the onset of periods of depression. click here ---->
